El Cubo de Tierra del Vino
El Cubo de la Tierra del Vino is the first town in the province of Zamora pilgrims following the Silver Route come to. Although the word wine - vino - still features in its name, very few vines remain here due to the phylloxera plague of the 19th century. However, there are still numerous wineries that remind us of the area’s wine making past. The town stands on what was once the site of a Roman mansio known as Sabaria.
This town is also the site of the Church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán.
