The Judas Festival is a unique festival that has been celebrated for more than 20 years in Villadiego (Burgos) and has recently been declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest by the Junta de Castilla y León. Although today it is an exceptional festival, in its origins it was very common in pre-Christian Mediterranean populations, being related to rites linked to nature.

He immediately assumed the figure of Judas to survive the arrival of Christianity and, although during the 20th century it disappeared from almost all towns, in 2002 the Espliego Group began to recover it in Villadiego.

Half an hour from Burgos, Villadiego becomes every Holy Saturday the town where parades, betrayals, battles, skirmishes, theater, banquets and food, dances and an unparalleled light and sound show take place. Attendees are direct participants in all of this, not mere spectators. We invite you to live 24 hours more than intense at the Judas Festival in Villadiego.
