The church dates from the first half of the 12th century and has the same style and structure as the Iglesia de San Miguel. It is the most popular church in the village, due to the venerated Virgen del Rivero.

It also has a peculiar colonnade running along the outside of the southern section of the nave.The decoration is geometrical along the projecting stone ledges and figurative in the capitals (real and imaginary animal and human forms).
