The current Church of San Andrés was built on an old Romanesque temple but it was completely rebuilt between 1550 and 1570 as determined by Antonio de Sotelo, who was one of the captains of Hernán Cortes in the Conquest of Mexico.

Of the original construction, the topped tower remains and part of the north façade. It is a great temple with a single very wide nave and it has two twin chapels that communicate with each other at its head. The chapels are covered by ribbed vaults, while the central body presents a Moorish armor supported by Perpiano arches by García de Luzaga. Originally one was for parishioners and another reserved for the Sotelo family. The funerary sculptural work stands out for the praying statue of Antonio de Sotelo with the period armor, made of alabaster. Inside you can see altarpieces from the 17th and 18th centuries. From this time are also the sixteen walls that represent the Passion and whose walls are covered during Lent.

The great altarpiece of his chapel, by Juan Falcote, the curious altarpiece of the central pillar dated in 1585 and the magnificent reclining alabaster of Juan de Sotelo, made by Pompeyo Leoni in 1589, also owes its patronage.
