The Sierra Pambley Museum, opened in July 2006, is a building that is located in the Plaza de la Catedral, in an old 19th-century mansion. The visitor is offered the opportunity to visit the home of a wealthy owner, a good example of a bourgeois house, which unites the memories of two important families of the Leonese nobility with the novelties incorporated by an enterprising man, enthusiastic about the progress offered by the scientific and technical advances of its time. In another space of the Museum known as the "Sala Cossío", the visitor can see the work of the innovative schools created by the Foundation at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century and which were linked from the beginning with the Free Institution of Education.
