Damián Navascués Poyo was born in 1946 in San Felices, Soria. As a young man, he emigrated to Alicante and, with his parents, worked in a beach hotel and restaurant. In 1973, he graduated in Psychology, working as an HR and organizational consultant for companies and institutions. Since 1985, he has managed several companies and in 1995 founded one dedicated to satellite communications and e-commerce for businesses. In 2008, he returned to the town and began developing it, based on a hotel, Las Abadías, an aromatic distillery, and a truffle holm oak and lavender plantation.
