The parish church of the Assumption is a remarkable Renaissance building (16th century) constructed with fine stonework. A shrine for warding off storms is preserved in the church's outer courtyard.

These are small, usually square structures (oriented to the four cardinal points) located next to churches. They were used for religious rituals to ward off storms, hail, or plagues that could damage crops. This one is preserved in Cozuelos de Ojeda next to its church (it is missing its roof). These places were used for rituals, and people sang to the sound of a peculiar ringing of bells, which also served to "scare away the clouds." They recited litanies like these: "Hold back, cloud, hold back, do not fall upon me, protect the bread, protect the wine, protect the fields, which are in bloom," or this one: "Hold back, cloud, hold back, for God is more powerful than you. If you are water, come here; if you are stone, go seven leagues from my village and as many more beyond."
