The present church was rebuilt in the 16th century, and it underwent reforms in the 17th and 19th centuries. Nothing remains of the original romanesque structure.

The transept is reminiscent of the works by Gil de Hontañón. The decoration of the keystones is very representative of the time, and consists of elements such as the fleur de Lis, swastikas, roses, anagrams of Christ and Mary and symbols of the pope.

The outside structure is simple and sober, and consists of masonry walls. The tower stands next to the Gospel. It has two brick bodies, the upper ones, dating from the 17th century. The last section of the nave had to be altered because of this. As a whole, the church is a good example of the Spanish Gothic style of the 16th century.
