This route recalls the last trip of Emperor Charles V to his retirement at the Yuste Monastery, in Cáceres. On Monday, September 28, 1556, from the port of Rammekens, in the former kingdom of Flanders, Emperor Charles I of Spain and V of Germany disembarked in Laredo (Cantabria).

The passage of the emperor through Medina de Pomar is recreated during the third weekend of October. The historic center of the city is set and hosts a Renaissance market and various representations of the time and life of Carlos V. The reception and delivery of the keys of the noble town of Medina de Pomar to the emperor, and subsequent imperial parade with a large retinue.
