The Eras of Monsagro
The Eras de Monsagro have been declared a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC) in the category of Ethnological Complex, recognizing its uniqueness, authenticity, excellent state of conservation and for being an exceptional testimony of rural ways of life and traditional subsistence agriculture based on cereals such as rye.
These are about thirty circular threshing floors paved with stone slabs, used for threshing grain, surrounded by dry-stone walls to contain the harvest. They are arranged in terraces, adapting to the terrain's topography, forming a stepped landscape towards the Agadón River with a somewhat " fortified " appearance.
These structures, documented since the 17th century, are so well preserved because they were used until 1998 for agricultural purposes and are a municipal property with inherited neighborhood usage rights.
