The Fiesta del Arca de Almarza (Soria) was declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest on November 14, 2025, a recognition that highlights the history of a celebration that has existed for more than 700 years.

It is celebrated on January 6th, Three Kings' Day, and the towns of Almarza and San Andrés de Soria participate. These towns exchange the Ark, which contains ancient and valuable documents that record part of their history. Each town has a key, and both keys must be used simultaneously to open it. The Ark is kept in San Andrés during even-numbered years and in Almarza during odd-numbered years.

The ceremony is simple. After Mass in each village, and before heading to Canto Gordo (the meeting point roughly halfway between the two villages), the groups that will accompany or carry the Ark gather at the doors of their respective town halls. The procession is led by a band that provides music, and many people dance along the way.
