Florentino Trapero Museum
Florentino Trapero, born in Aguilafuente in 1893, was a sculptor and drawing teacher who dedicated his life to art. It is estimated that he made approximately 200 sculptures that can be found throughout our country. Some examples are the La Borriquita float from Zamora; the apostolate of the Cathedral of Vitoria; five literary figures for the Universidad Laboral in Gijón, the main altar of the church of Galapagar (Madrid) or the image of Christ the King of Veganzones (Segovia).
It is in Aguilafuente where the largest concentration of the artist's pieces is found. The town has a permanent exhibition in which a hundred sculptures are displayed, including sketches and moulds, mainly in plaster, which help us to understand the artist's imprint and learn the peculiarities of the sculptural creation process through observing the steps prior to the final work.
