The La Ermita-Las Arenas site is located by leaving Cabezón in a southerly direction along the Cañadas Reales (Drovers' road) Leonesa, after traveling approximately 700 m. At this point, we find the site, on both sides of the road.

On the banks of the Pisuerga River, the renowned site of El Bosque-Las Arenas contains remains attributable to various periods of occupation. The oldest, dating from the Late Prehistoric period, is likely a site of undetermined type and age, although it has sometimes been linked to the Early Iron Age. The most significant, and perhaps also the most affected by agricultural activity, dates from the High Imperial and Late Roman periods. A more recent archaeological presence is evident in the scattering of limestone slabs, which are likely associated with stone and solid brick tombs from the High Middle Ages or later. It is also possible that this area contains inhumation graves related to the later stage of Roman occupation or, as suggested by the earlier discovery of a buckle, to a Visigothic burial.
