The Atalaya del Sur del Burgo is a historical example worth seeing for its antiquity and significance. It is a resulting building of the expansion of the counts of Castilla towards South snatching land to the Muslims. New defensive buildings facing the Duero were built as the caliphate to protect themselves from this push. The Atalaya of which we are speaking, has a circular floor and walls with the same shape, made with limestone ashlar thickened with lime mortar.
