The Castilian and Leonese Institute of Language and the Segovia City Council are organizing a new session of "Telling the Story of Music ," a music appreciation talk given by José Luis López Antón, director of the Avila Symphony Orchestra, on Monday, April 13th at 7:00 p.m. in the Segovia Public Library. In this latest encounter with the Segovian public, López Antón will analyze the score of the suite "Mother Goose" (Ma mère l'Oye) by the French composer Maurice Ravel.

This piece is a ballet suite for piano four hands (1908-1910), later orchestrated in 1911 and expanded into a ballet. Inspired by fairy tales by Perrault and Madame d'Aulnoy, it combines the simplicity and timbral refinement characteristic of Ravel's Impressionist style. The work is a model of orchestral miniature: delicate, evocative, and exquisitely orchestrated.

José Luis López Antón is considered one of the most promising talents of the new generation of orchestra conductors in Spain.
