The Castilian and Leonese Institute of Language is organizing the presentation of the book Colirio para cangrejos (Eolas Ediciones, 2025), by Adrián Pérez Avendaño, an author specializing in the microfiction genre, on Thursday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Palacio de la Isla in Burgos.

The starting point for this new book is the author's understanding that crabs always move sideways, not backwards, as is commonly believed. Apparently, this is due to their very structure, and this same characteristic prevents them from moving in any other way.

Eye Drops for Crabs represents an exploration, through the microfiction genre, of who we are and who we aspire to be—something we don't always achieve and whose journey is fraught with setbacks, doubts, stumbles, and fears. Because, the author argues, moving forward isn't always synonymous with going ahead, but rather with simply moving, even if it's from side to side, just like crabs do.

The presentation of this title is organized in collaboration with the Burgos Booksellers Association and the author will be accompanied by Ángel Moral de Gracia, philologist and historian.
