On Wednesday, February 25th at 7:00 p.m. , in the Auditorium of the Palencia Public Library, within the cycle "Read, see and think"
that the 35th Palencia International Film Festival develops in collaboration with the reading clubs of the library and the Popular University of Palencia, the writer Rosa Navarro presents her first novel, "Recochura" .
Reality must be questioned. Against a backdrop that inevitably draws you into the realm of madness, a young woman returns to her ancestral village. There, the usual good guys and bad guys still hold out, along with an almost human doe, an eternal Grandfather, and the last monk of Bhutan. But, in addition, new elements have been incorporated into the local flora and fauna: a poet addicted to the octosyllabic verse, a bluish cow that produces beer, a troupe of kidnapped comedians, an educated outsider known as the Fool, and a satanic priest who wants to wield more power than the retired landowners. The protagonist, accompanied at all times by a clever and wicked blind man, attempts to achieve poetic justice and prove, by any means necessary, that the best novel in the world also bears a woman's signature. And then, there is love, sex, crime, gastronomy, alcohol, and death. But, above all, humor. Lots of humor. And the good kind. Welcome to surruralism.
