Camerata Lírica de España has chosen this work by the brilliant composer because it is the most performed opera in the last hundred years in the world's major theaters.

La Traviata, an opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi , with a libretto by Francesco Maria Piave and based on the play The Lady of the Camellias by Alexandre Dumas fils, is one of the most performed operas of the last hundred years and, since its premiere in 1853, has toured the world's major theaters. A work with which Giuseppe Verdi reached musical maturity with characters full of humanity and a realistic plot. The work takes place in Paris at the end of the 19th century, in the mansion of Violetta Valery, a famous courtesan who will fight for the love of Alfred Germont, a work with melodies that are very recognizable and recognizable both by the most passionate followers of this genre, as well as by those who are beginning to delve into this wonderful world. An all-time masterpiece in which we will hear such well-known pieces as Sempre Libera or Libiamo ne lieti calici, which will transport us to 19th century society through the magnificent voices of its performers.
