MAYALDE is a traditional music group with an ancestral flavor that has specialized for 40 years in reviving the music of the soul. Listening to their concerts is almost indescribable, because the world of sensations they evoke is boundless. Blending life and art, Mayalde is made up of Eusebio and Pilar, the founders of the group, and for about 18 years now their two children, Arturo and Laura, have joined, feeling the responsibility to continue this cultural legacy, the history of the people, the music of the land.

They have released 14 albums, the most recent being NANAS CON NÁ and NCA MAYALDE, the latter recorded live in 2019. Mayalde celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2020 and, continuing its trajectory, they reopen their home and invite the public to travel back to their childhood, to snuggle up next to their grandmother, to go out into the street of their town through memories, flavors, textures, colors, sounds, songs, stories and oral tradition.

The originality of the Mayalde group lies in making music out of anything, seasoned with all those stories and songs heard from the lips of older people, from history and rhythms that only remain in memory and recollection, and which they strive to cherish as honestly as possible.

Their concerts feel like an archaeological adventure, delving into the memories and very core of the audience to awaken the roots that connect them to the Earth. Their shows are enchantingly staged, utilizing everyday objects such as spoons, chamber pots, brooms, sheep shears, bones, accordions, cauldrons, pans, shovels, watering cans, oil cans, lids, bagpipes, and more—all forming their instrumental foundation.

Their capacity for renewal and research grows every day and year after year; new instruments, toasts, legends, and stories delight the public, who do not hesitate to be part of the show.
