"Todo empieza en la plaza" is the new live show by Cristina Len, a singer and producer with roots in Martiago (Salamanca) and a history in the national independent music scene. The project combines original songs from her albums TMLM (Todo menos la muerte) and Martiago with new material currently in development, creating a modular show that can be presented solo (vocals, electronics, and visuals) or as a duo with percussionist Joe Sturges.
The live performance is characterized by a fusion of Castilian folklore and contemporary electronic music, with musical arrangements by Yoel Molina and visuals designed by Dani Bega. The audiovisual elements include documentary archives and graphic and video material by Martiago, which interact with the musical repertoire to create an immersive experience. The repertoire is structured in three sections: - Traditional songs and archival material (Martiago) reinterpreted through electronic music. - Recent work (TMLM) that blends pop, urban music, and Castilian folk. - New, previously unreleased material, conceived specifically for this live performance and serving as poetic interludes between the main sections.
Everything Begins in the Plaza is a live performance designed for plazas, theaters, and municipal cultural programs, capable of engaging with Castilian tradition through a contemporary language that resonates with younger generations. The show connects with a broad audience—adults, young people, and those in between—who find in this performance a modern way to recognize themselves in the collective memory of Castilla y León.
Genre: Music. Style: Contemporary-folk. Duration: 60 min.
Show included in the programming of the Scenic Circuits of Castilla y León.
