I am David Hernández Sevillano.

I was born in the city of Segovia, on a day when everything was covered by a thick blanket of snow, like a blank page. There I began to write my story.

In Segovia I grew up and learned the magic that happens when one letter joins with another letter and then with yet another… and in the end these come together to form other words and many more that, united, move us, make us laugh, cry, sigh, dream…

I am a poet and children's book writer, a storyteller and a word juggler.
For some time now, verses and stories have come to my pencil when I'm in the silence of my sofa at home. I sing to them, rock them, and offer them cookies and cranberry juice, and they—the stories and verses—fall asleep in my lap.

But then I need to count them, sing them, recite them, hum them, shout them, whisper them, whistle them…
