Located in the Tormes river, allows the irrigation of about 65.000 hectares, and ensures the supply of drinking water to many towns. In its clear, cool waters the practice of a wide variety of water sports is allowed, including motor navigation, water skiing or sailing.

The reservoir of Santa Teresa, built in the early 60s of the twentieth Century, is a meeting point for migratory birds and an ideal place to observe the cranes in a quiet natural setting surrounded by oaks and scrub lands, as well as areas of crop and grazing.
