This stage goes by the heart of the Ancares of the province of Leon through secondary roads and some roads or forest tracks. The difficulty of the stage is high due to the high slope, which exceeds one thousand meters, and to the constant succession of climbs and long descents. In winter there may be sections in poor condition because of the rain and occasionally, snow.
