This musical appreciation talk will be given by conductor José Luis López Antón, principal conductor of the Avila Symphony Orchestra. In this meeting with Salamanca's classical music enthusiasts, López Antón will focus on the score of Felix Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 4, "Italian ," composed between 1830 and 1833 and inspired by the composer's travels through Italy .
Italiana is a composition that stands out for its luminosity and vitality, structured in four movements; as a whole, the work is a musical homage to Italian light and passion, uniting formal mastery with youthful freshness. "Telling the Music" is an educational initiative born from this young musician's desire to bring the intricacies of great classical masterpieces from various genres closer to the public. José Luis López Antón is considered one of the most promising talents of the new generation of conductors in Spain.
