The Folk Man of the Iberian Peninsula is a solo project by the Segovian musician Jesús Parra , who explores the oral traditions of music from across the Iberian Peninsula. From the ajechao to the tambourine dances of Burgos, from ballads to the songs of Agapito, he aims to recapture the purest form of our folk music and create new tunes from these sounds. Spoons, tambourines, sieves, pans, hurdy-gurdies, and citterns all come together in this captivating journey through time and the rich musical heritage of Spain.

He has three albums on the market. The first, Donde vuelve el aire, is based on the general ballad tradition of Segovia and his own compositions; the second, De guli guli gu, is based on Segovian children's oral tradition and our traditional games; and the third is a co-production with Jose Miguel Arranz entitled Homenaje al poeta , in which they recreate old Spanish songs arranged by Lorca and Falla with the sounds of the Iberian folk man.
