"Ellas Cuenta" is a show in which, through dramatized stories, six real women (all played by the same actress) will take the stage to tell their true stories and, in turn, other stories about equality. They are Samantha Vallejo-Nágera, Marian Dawkins, Hypatia of Alexandria, Jane Goodall, Gloria Fuertes, and Carmen Amaya. With a wealth of humor and a high level of audience interaction, the actress is also accompanied by puppets, object theater, narration, dance, and music throughout the 50-minute show.
Estrella R. ( Madrid, 1981): "I've been dancing since I was little. I started with a tutu, heels, castanets, and hair combs, and I ended up barefoot. The older I get, the less props I use to dance. I live dancing to life in the heart of the mountains. In that privileged place, ideas sprout among holm oaks, oak trees, and blackbird songs, so I give them shape with different musicians, lighting technicians, and traveling many kilometers. Since 2014, I've combined my creative and creative side with my pedagogical side, working in rural areas with the Performing Arts as my main tool to engage people of all ages. I liven up the atmosphere in the villages, bringing music and dance because, as Emma Goldman said, "If I can't dance to it, it's not my revolution."
