"The Puppet Circus", with Alauda Teatro

The world of the circus. All the excitement of its artists: trapeze artists, jugglers, tightrope walkers, the fire-eating fakir, and trained animals, in an exciting and entertaining puppet show, also accompanied by the clown Frango and presented by the great ringmaster Mario Net.

Alauda Theater

The company was founded on the initiative of Rafael Benito, who graduated from the Madrid School of Dramatic Arts in 1984, and Isabel Sobrino, who graduated from the RCSM in Madrid in cello.

In 1997 they began researching and using puppets, and today the puppet is a regular element in their proposals, with twenty-five shows using different techniques. They have participated in 220 national and international festivals and since 2012 they have organized and directed the Merindades Puppet Festival . In 2017 they inaugurated Teatro La Realidad , a cultural space dedicated to the performing arts: theater, puppets, dance and music. In 2018 they opened the Puppet Workshop in Medina de Pomar , a design and construction space, a permanent exhibition of the company's puppets and a meeting place for the Anima Madera puppet carving and construction courses. In 2021 they received the Rosa Mª Gª Cano Award from the Castilla y León Theater Fair for the Promotion of Performing Arts Initiatives in Rural Areas.
