A new online writing workshop with Miriam Alonso begins on Wednesday, September 17th. It will run until December 17th.

Writers work with memory and imagination; their narratives refer to sometimes fantastical literary worlds, but when the protagonist of the story is oneself, the creative perspective must change.

A source of fiction, our human experience can be captured in works of autobiography, memoir, or autofiction, but life and literature are not the same; their logic and timing operate differently.

In this workshop, we'll learn the key concepts behind the genres of autobiography, autofiction, memoir, and biography. We'll also critically analyze the relationships between them, read biographies, and explore the characters we are, were, and likely will become.
