The Valladolid Opera Workshop is a group dedicated to the performance of the operatic repertoire, as well as other musical forms such as oratorio, lied, etc...
Its name and activities are inspired by other musical groups with similar characteristics that, while not strictly opera companies, organize performances of excerpts from the operatic repertoire with minimal musical accompaniment to avoid the high cost of staging a full opera. This makes it easy to present this type of performance in theaters and venues without compromising its musical quality.
Furthermore, an " opera workshop " not only performs a musical-vocal performance of operatic passages, as would happen in a typical lyric recital, but also enriches it with the dramatic interpretation of its staging.
It is also worth noting that both the design and creation of the costumes are done by the members of the group themselves, as well as the stage direction, which gives meaning to the integral concept of " opera workshop " with which we call our group.
The Workshop performs numerous shows in the city of Valladolid and in different towns in Castilla y León, as well as in various educational centers with musical educational shows.
