During the month of March, we will have the pleasure of hosting the series " Writing is Defending the Solitude One Experiences: Women's Writings that Illuminate Our Present ." These words were written by María Zambrano for the Revista de Occidente in 1934, where she reflects on the reasons for the act of writing. Four lectures, organized by Claudio Moyano Arellano, will be held at the Library to explore this theme.

" Writing is defending the solitude in which one finds oneself; it is an action that only springs from an effective isolation, but from a communicable isolation, in which, precisely because of the distance from all concrete things, a discovery of relationships between them becomes possible " (Why We Write / María Zambrano)

The first of these talks will be given by Anna Caballé and Carmen Morán Rodríguez on March 3 at 6:30 p.m. on " The brilliance of consciousness: the relevance of Rosa Chacel ."

Anna Caballé Masforrol is currently an honorary professor of Spanish and Latin American Literature at the University of Barcelona, a leading literary critic, and one of the most insightful and authoritative voices in the study of autobiographical and biographical discourse in Spanish. Vida de Rosa Chacel (1898-1994), a work distinguished by its meticulous handling of sources and its ability to illuminate the most intimate aspects of a fascinating literary life.

Carmen Morán Rodríguez is Professor of Spanish Literature at the University of Valladolid and a renowned specialist in 20th- and 21st-century Spanish literary studies. She is the author of several books, though undoubtedly her doctoral thesis is dedicated to Rosa Chacel.
