José Luis López-Antón is considered one of the brightest and most charismatic promises of the new generation of orchestra conductors in Spain. Currently the principal and artistic director of the Avila Symphony Orchestra (OSAV), his career has seen a great rise in a very short time.

Born in 1990, he completed his higher education at the Conservatorio Superior de Salamanca, obtaining a First Class Honours and an Outstanding End of Degree Award. For three consecutive years he received the Scholarship for students with Excellent Academic Achievement from the Junta de Castilla y León as a reward for his record. Notable in his training are the masters Miguel Romea, Andrés Salado, Achim Holub, and Andrew Gourlay, former principal conductor of the Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra, of which he has been assistant conductor in various productions. He has also been assistant to the masters Vasily Petrenko and Gordan Nikolic. He was also assistant conductor of the Orchestra of the Alfonso X "El Sabio" University in Madrid.
