On Friday, December 4th, at 7pm, enjoy the best jazz with Cova Villegas & Grus Art.

The free jazz and improvised music duo, formed by saxophonist and clarinetist Fito Ares and multi-instrumentalist Bernardo Martínez , both from A Coruña and with an intense activity linked, above all, to the Filloa Jazz club, has, after recording their album Grus Art, served as a base for collaborations with diverse musicians. In particular, with double bassist Iñigo Azurmendi and saxophonist and poet Ildefonso Rodríguez (with whom in the nineties they formed a saxophone quartet, the Filloa Quartet, which was very active for almost a decade).

The joint projects continued (the Freelloa Ensemble, a septet with musicians from various countries) until they came together, with the addition of singer and pianist Cova Villegas , in this quintet, whose aesthetic could be defined as a sound rooted in jazz (a singer and two wind instruments with a rhythm section, piano, percussion and double bass) that enters the flowing game of free improvisation, with both European and North American influences (free jazz), to make each concert a journey full of surprises, where poetic recitation also comes into play, in addition to the frequent changes of instrumental timbre (Chinese flutes, small electronics, world percussion…).

Free admission until full capacity.
