Anatomy of cyber emotional scams, a new form of digital violence

The evolution of technology and digital communication has given rise to new forms of crime, most notably emotional cyber scams, also known as romantic fraud or emotional manipulation scams. This talk analyzes the anatomy of this type of digital violence, its mechanisms of operation, the profiles of victims and perpetrators, and the techniques used to deceive, manipulate, and obtain financial or personal gain.
