In this second talk of the COMIC.EXE series at the Segovia Public Library, Alejandro Jiménez Cid takes us on a journey through the key robotic characters in the Japanese entertainment industry of the last eighty years. We'll explore the origins and context of iconic manga series such as Astro Boy, Mazinger Z, Ghost in the Shell, and Evangelion, as well as other lesser-known but equally worthy works of analysis and enjoyment. We'll also trace the evolution of the robot's image not only in manga but also in related media: anime and video games. This session is highly recommended for both otaku and those who want to venture into the intricacies of manga culture for the first time.

Alejandro Jiménez Cid is a staff member at the Segovia Public Library, where he leads the comic book reading club "Viñetas indómitas" (Untamed Panels). He belongs to ACDCómic (Association of Comic Book Critics and Promoters of Spain) and publishes reviews and articles about comics in Diario Sabemos and other media outlets.
