Throughout this course, among our activities, we have offered the " Four Hands " workshops. This series of workshops was created to offer a space where children could develop their creativity alongside a trusted adult.
We live in a time when everything moves very fast, and that is why we wanted to offer these workshops to give children a place where they can express themselves calmly through artistic activities, a shared space as a family where they can create together and learn at the same time.
Each month we offered a new activity related to the time of year, as all the workshops were themed around the changing seasons. Using natural materials, families learned to make wool postcards, tapestries, felt animals, garlands, autumn wreaths, and cases. The main activity was sewing, which provided families with numerous benefits such as improved concentration, patience, fine motor skills, and the satisfaction of creating something with their own hands.
Led by Gema, the creative force behind the " Time to Time · Creative Processes " project, families have enjoyed these monthly workshops, which she designed with great care. It wasn't just about sewing; Gema always infused everything with thoughtful reflections, such as the importance of simplicity, the pleasure of small things, and appreciating the everyday things that often go unnoticed. Most importantly, each family worked as a team, exchanging ideas and respecting everyone's preferences. In each workshop, they had the privilege of being themselves and expressing what's inside them.
To help you understand the essence of this space, we've prepared an exhibition showcasing some of the work families have created during this year's workshops. You can view it from June 24th to July 31st on the first floor of the library.
