KATRINA PENMAN. Flautist
I'm originally from London, but I've lived in Valladolid for over 15 years and am the mother of three children from Valladolid. I trained as a flautist at the Royal Conservatoire in London and at La Scala in Milan, where I collaborated for two years before moving to Spain, where I began working with the OSCYL (Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra). I combine my work as a flautist with teaching. I'm passionate about musical composition and also write and arrange music.
PILAR ANDRINO. Violinist
Originally from Valladolid and trained at the conservatories of Valladolid, Salamanca , and Munich. As a child, when I attended concerts of the Valladolid City Orchestra, I only had eyes for the violins, and my school music teacher, Alicia Martín Baró, told me it was the instrument best suited to me. Thanks to music, I have enjoyed playing in professional orchestras, teaching at European summer courses, and collaborating on social projects.
LAIA RUIZ. Cello
I'm from Barcelona, although I lived for many years in the Netherlands and Belgium. I heard the food here was amazing (especially the roast lamb!) and I couldn't resist the temptation to come back! I'm currently playing in the OSCYL (Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra) and I've wanted to play the cello since I was very little. When my parents turned on the TV on Sunday mornings, I was always mesmerized watching the orchestra, and especially the cellos.
DIANA VILLALOBOS. Dancer
I'm Diana, daughter of a pioneer of breaking, or as it's more commonly known in Spain, "breakdance." In 2010, I started traveling and training in different styles of urban dance: Madrid, Barcelona, Porto, London, Warsaw, New York… constantly on the go. In this show, you're going to see something a little different: how styles
Urban rhythms like popping and waacking are mixed with classical music!
