The Holocaust meant the near-total annihilation of Jewish life in Eastern Europe and also in a large part of Western Europe. Six million Jews were murdered in the extermination camps opened by the Nazis, three million of whom were of Polish origin, and the rest primarily from Austria, Germany, Belarus, Croatia, Hungary, France, Italy, Romania, Serbia, and Ukraine.

To remember all these events and pay tribute to the millions of victims, FOLLOWING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE HOLOCAUST travels through this Europe, now forever vanished, and seeks to bring to light the abandoned and almost forgotten places. Keeping the flame of remembrance alive, reclaiming the legacy and cultural heritage left by millions of Jews on our continent, is a moral and ethical obligation for all Europeans, both today and tomorrow.

The exhibited work belongs to the researcher, journalist and photographer Ricardo Angoso .
