Rafael Gómez (saxophone), Pablo Casal (piano, drums and composition)
The KeyDrum Project is a unique approach to keydrum music, where piano and drums function as a single rhythmic and harmonic instrument in service of the music. The saxophone assumes a melodic and narrative role.
giving the whole a familiar and recognizable character.
The concert is conceived as an attentive, dynamic and optimistic listening experience, with a strong visual character, where musical development and interaction between musicians are the focus of the concert.
Rafael Gómez and Pablo Casal form The KeyDrum Project, an instrumental duo with their own repertoire, based on folk melodies treated with a clear and accessible contemporary aesthetic. There are no magic tricks or backing tracks in this group, even though it might sometimes seem that way. Everything stems from songs that were already there, rooted in tradition, in villages and on the streets, but which have been filtered through jazz, blues, and funk to give them a modern sound. It's music you could hear in a movie, if it were a good one. The invention is called KeyDrum.
All performances will be held in the library's auditorium.
Free admission until capacity is reached
