During the month of March, we will have the pleasure of hosting the series "Writing is defending the solitude in which one finds oneself: women's writings that illuminate our present." These words were written by María Zambrano for the magazine de Occidente in 1934, where she reflects on the reasons for the act of writing.
"Writing is defending the solitude in which one finds oneself; it is an action that only springs from an effective isolation, but from a communicable isolation, in which, precisely because of the distance from all concrete things, a discovery of relationships between them becomes possible" ( Why We Write / María Zambrano )
With this idea in mind, four conferences organized by Claudio Moyano Arellano will be held at the Library.
We continue with Thinking from the heart: María Zambrano in the present day by Sara Molpeceres Arnaiz on March 17 at 6:30 pm about "The brilliance of consciousness: the relevance of Rosa Chacel".
Sara Molpeceres Arnaiz is a Professor of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at the University of Valladolid. Her work articulates classical concepts such as myth, symbol, and reason with contemporary approaches to rhetoric, narrative, and aesthetic structures, fostering a dialogue between tradition and the present from a comparative and cognitive perspective. Her critical output is fruitfully linked to the work of María Zambrano, to whom she has dedicated several works, especially on the symbolic configuration of discourse and the mediations between reason and poetics.
