Tras-tras! I'm Cristina Oleby

I was born with a pencil instead of a pacifier. I used it as a teether, to draw on my bedroom wall, and to write stories. Although that came a little later, after I learned to write, of course.

One day I wanted my stories to reach the world, and for the world to reach them. And they liked each other.

I write primarily for children, although I have also contributed stories for adults.

I was awarded the VI Enric Solbes International Prize for Illustrated Albums from Editorial Bromera with La Fuga , illustrated by Pablo Pino, and three of my books have been selected by the Cuatrogatos Foundation of Miami within its 100 recommended books ( El alce negro and Oso blanco, oso marrón in 2020, and Francisca in 2021).

Although you may have come here to find out things like that I was born in Madrid but have Swedish nationality, that I studied business administration but never liked it, and that I grew up in Pamplona and lived in several countries, but now I reside in Segovia on the outskirts of an oak grove.

This is a creative writing workshop based on the book "Ostrich in the Market" by Cristina Oleby
