In the Mexican tradition of the Day of the Dead, the altar is the symbolic space dedicated to honoring and receiving those who came before us, while the offerings are the food, flowers, drinks and objects that are placed on it as an expression of remembrance, affection and welcome.
The celebration brings together indigenous traditions related to ancestors and Catholic practices linked to All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.

Organized by the Association of Mexicans in Salamanca, MEXSAL. Since 2017, this celebration has had a space in the courtyard of the Salamanca Public Library - Casa de las Conchas, with the installation of the Day of the Dead Offering Altar, an exhibition with a different theme each year.
