On Thursday, December 18th, at 6:30 pm, Urbano Romero Santos will present his book.

The writer from León, Urbano Romero, presents Nuevecuentos, a collection of stories written between 2011 and 2017 that recovers the oral tradition and the taste for the fantastic.

The book brings together nine stories of diverse styles but with a common thread: fantasy, love of the land, and the wisdom of elders. "In Leon, there is an ancestral tradition called Filandón, in which families gather around the fire to tell stories. That tradition is very present in Nuevecuentos," explains the author.

Aimed at both young people and adults, the book offers a mosaic of worlds where the magical and the everyday coexist: invisible creatures, the rebellion of youth, the loneliness after loss, the bond with animals in the Castilian steppe or the complicity of grandparents.

Inspired by masters of the short story such as Poe, Cortázar, Quiroga, Rulfo, Merino, Llamazares or Martín Garzo, Urbano traces a narrative map that oscillates between the real and the implausible, always with a nod to the imagination.

Free entry until capacity is reached.
