Sara Martín Alonso's professional studies completion
Tuesday, May 19, 7:30 p.m.
One of the goals of the Miguel Manzano Professional Music Conservatory in Zamora is to promote the school's students through activities held outside the school. This way, the school's training is publicized, bringing students closer to the public. Furthermore, it allows students to leave their usual environment and face new challenges.
This recital, marking the end of Sara Martín Alonso 's Professional Studies, proposes a journey through four centuries of musical literature.
G.P. Telemann's Fantasy No. 3 in B minor, one of the twelve originally conceived for flute, demonstrates the oboe's capacity to sustain a solo polyphonic discourse. W.A. Mozart's Concerto in C major is a cornerstone of the oboe repertoire, where classic elegance and technical virtuosity intertwine in an architecture of absolute clarity. R. Schumann's Romance No. 1, Op. 94, is pure Romantic lyricism in which oboe and piano carry the emotional discourse of a work he conceived as a Christmas gift for his wife Clara, a pianist and composer, and dedicated to a violinist friend.
In the 20th century, Benjamin Britten's Metamorphoses explored Ovid's mythology through a descriptive narrative for solo oboe, in which each of the six pieces recounts the metamorphosis of a character. E. Bozza's Pastoral Fantasy brings this theme full circle with French Impressionism, exploring exotic and varied sounds across three movements that demand brilliant technical agility.
