Discover the historical and artistic heritage and spiritual richness of the Community of Castilla y León this summer, through its churches and hermitages. From July 12 to September 7, 2025, Castilla y León opens the doors to its history with a new edition of the Monument Opening Program, an initiative that allows free visits to 449 churches and temples throughout the Community.
Follow in the footsteps of pilgrims along the Camino de Santiago, explore the Duero Valleys, delve into the southern mountain ranges, or tour heritage cities. Twenty-two thematic or geographic programs provide access to and insight into these cultural and artistic resources of the Community of Castilla y León , which are not normally open to visitors or have very limited access.
Thanks to the collaboration and joint efforts of the dioceses and the Junta de Castilla y León, this program highlights religious heritage and offers visitors and pilgrims the unique opportunity to delve into Romanesque, Mudejar, Gothic, and Baroque art through themed routes that follow historic and traditional paths such as the Camino de Santiago, the Camino Mozarabic, and the Camino de Madrid.
This summer, be amazed by the beauty of small towns, the spiritual richness of their churches, and the hospitality of their people. Every visit is a unique experience.
The opening period is from July 12 to September 7, 2025, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. , except for the hours specified in each temple.
