"What a bunch of animals"
Every culture has a vast repertoire of stories featuring animals. Some of the oldest known begin with the phrase "When animals were people..."
These stories have always served to help us see ourselves reflected in the animals that surrounded us, to learn about behaviors, to make fun of bullies, to face our fears, and much more.
We will all experience that with this selection of folk tales from different cultures starring a diverse array of animals.
- 19:30 h., for young people aged 16 and over and adults
"Beautiful incarnate"
This is a selection of four stories from the fifty that make up The Tale of Tales , also known as Pentamerone by Gianbattista Basile, a look at this essential work of European popular literature.
The 50 tales that make up the Pentameron were told over 5 days, 10 tales each day. Many are tales from a long oral tradition, modified and adapted. They are written in Neapolitan and published posthumously in Naples in five volumes, from 1634 to 1636.
Some are very well known and were later also adapted by Charles Perrault and the Brothers Grimm.
