During the months of April to June 2026, the Zamora Public Library continues with the program of oral storytelling sessions for all audiences.
Friday, June 5th. Charo Jaular (Zamora)Oral storyteller since 1998. I was born in "la Bella Zamora" near a place called "Los Arribanzos".
They say of me that my staging shines almost as much as my gaze, that I narrate with a contagious passion to babies, families, young people and adults, I love when my hips sway when I tell stories, I love shared silences and listening to inhabited stories where everything is possible.
I've been a regular at the Guadalajara Storytelling Marathon since 1997, and that's quite a high level! Hehehe... what a great school for growing up among stories.
The first time I got a call from the "International Theatre Fair of Ciudad Rodrigo" I almost died of excitement! I have traveled all over the peninsula and the islands telling stories at different festivals and places, and internationally I have told stories in Rabat (Morocco), in Porto (Portugal), in the Sahrawi refugee camps at the "Palabra de Mujer" festival, the "Otoño Cuentos al Vuelo" Festival in Toluca (Mexico), the "Puro Cuento" Festival in Lima (Peru) and the "Alajuela Ciudad Palabra" Festival (Costa Rica).
And since 2003 I have been coordinating an oral storytelling circuit "Ancha es Castilla" in Castilla y León , having stories told to you at home and seeing the faces of the audience "flipping" with so much storytelling talent, is priceless!
- 5:30 p.m., for audiences from 9 months to 3 years old accompanied by 1 adult
"Grandma's best trick"
Duration: 35 minutes
Grandma always smiles when I go to see her, she hugs me, tickles me, gives me piggyback rides, we dress up and dance, sometimes she takes me on adventures, we don't look for lions or rhinoceroses, just special things, little treasures: giant leaves, colorful stones, tiny mushrooms, she always saw things that nobody else noticed and suddenly they became something magical...
- 7:00 p.m., for young people aged 16 and over and adults
"He who tells sows, he who listens reaps ."
Duration: 60 minutes
Stories of women who raise their voices, astute and beautiful women, curious and honest women, women in love and free women, night falls and through the narrator's throat they all rise, they reach your mouths and your hearts, you who listen with shining eyes...a session full of desires for vindication, complicity, celebrating the gathering to share, to grow and to celebrate the union of the tribe.
