We present the second story in the Ancha es Castilla Oral Storytelling Cycle, brought to you by Pep Bruno. Ever since we came down from the trees and committed ourselves to being human, from that very moment, somewhere in the world, people gather to tell and listen to stories. Right now, as you read these words, others, fleeting and fleeting, are weaving tales and nurturing dreams in eyes, ears, and hearts. Perhaps it's happening in a houseboat in Vietnam, or maybe at the foot of an African baobab tree, or on a cool street corner in a Central American village, or in a newly built igloo, or in a house in Guadalajara. At every moment, in this world of ours, there is someone telling and listening to stories, imagining fictions. And so it has always been throughout history, throughout our history, because telling and listening to stories is, perhaps, the most human gesture we possess.
We invite you to participate in this centuries-old global celebration, the festival of the spoken word. Come and listen to stories, old stories, tales that many others have heard before you, and which are sure to entertain you.
