On Wednesday, March 25th , at 7:30 p.m. , in the Auditorium of the Palencia Public Library , the Golgotana Passion Evening will be held with Josemaría Pérez Nieto, founder of the Our Lady of Lourdes Hospitality of Palencia. Golgotana is an artistic and devotional event conceived as a contemporary Calvary scene, focused on the crucified of today, inviting contemplation of the Passion of Jesus of Nazareth in dialogue with the current sufferings of the world.

The work combines prayers from popular religious ballads with personal testimonies of men and women who continue to suffer the cross in our time, and a soundtrack comprised of songs by contemporary Christian artists. It is a production of "Raíces21," an organization dedicated to promoting traditional culture and encouraging reading. The performance is designed so that the audience can participate through texts projected on a screen, as in previous evenings, "Calvario" and "Dolorosa," which premiered at the Palencia Public Library.

The event is visually supported by the projection of images of 114 life-size sculptures, representations of the steps of Calvary located in the Marian sanctuary of Lourdes, offering an artistic and spiritual experience of great expressive power and intense contemplative character of the Passion and its resonance in current suffering.
