On Tuesday, June 2nd , at 7:00 p.m. , in the Auditorium of the Palencia Public Library, the book of poems "Pobres criaturas" (Poor Creatures) by writer and singer-songwriter Alberto Avila Morales will be presented. The event will be hosted by Eugenio Rivera and will feature Elda Hidalgo as a reciter.
Alberto Avila Morales, from Madrid, is a photographer, singer-songwriter, and composer with seven published poetry collections: Para Isabel. Gritos de amor contra el Alzhéimer (Sial-Pigmalión, 2011); La muerte de Dios (Ediciones Vitruvio, 2015), Del Humor, al Amor, al Horror (Ediciones Vitruvio, 2016), Atenta Mente Vuestro (Los Libros del Mississippi, 2019), La voz inerte (Vision Libros, 2023), 40 huellas &1 denuncia (2024), and Pobres criaturas (Mahalta Ediciones, 2026).
She has published articles in the magazine Entreletras and poems in La hoja azul en blanco (Asociación Literaria Verbo Azul), as well as in anthologies: Poetas y realidad (Evohé, 2018), Antología de encuentros poético-artísticos de otoño en la Lobera de Gredos (Juglar, 2018), De las sogas de la felicidad, el amor, por ejemplo: para no vencernos nunca (Lastura, 2020) and Voces para un futuro (Ondina, 2021).
As a singer-songwriter, he participated in and reached the final of the Benidorm Festival in 1980, where he won the award for Best Song Lyrics; he was also the winner of the Brunete Festival in 1982. He released an LP with the Phonogram Philips record label entitled Alberto Morales.
She has participated poetically and musically in several tributes, including the Tribute to Carlos Oquendo de Amat at the Casa de América (2007), Tribute of the Arts to Miguel Hernández: Three Wounds held at the Ateneo de Madrid on the occasion of the centenary of his birth (September 10, 2010), Tribute to Blas de Otero (Covibar Social Center, Rivas Vaciamadrid, May 29, 2019) and Tribute to Miguel Hernández Don't Touch Him. You Couldn't at the Ateneo de Madrid (May 30, 2022).
