Reflections on Death is a multifaceted book; it contains two stories, several poems, and fragments written over many years. None of them were written with the intention of being compiled together, so presenting them now might seem like an incoherent, trivial, and absurd decision. Nevertheless, they all share a common theme: death. Each of these texts faithfully reflects the author's vision of death, whether natural, violent, or sought after, real or imagined.
Sergio Rodríguez Espejel (Valladolid, 1996) is an architect by profession and a writer by passion. Since typing his first story at the age of 10, he has written numerous short stories, poems, and other texts, his first novel being "Like Every Summer" (2017), where he condenses the atmosphere of the patron saint festivities of an imaginary Castilian village, Villafranca del Mentidero, into a single day and night in August.
